Interactive Brokers launched a new prediction markets platform in partnership with Kalshi, CME Group, and ForecastEx, expanding access to event-based trading products for retail and institutional investors. The platform allows users to trade on the outcomes of economic events, policy decisions, elections, and other market-moving developments.
The initiative reflects growing interest in regulated prediction markets as exchanges and brokerages seek new revenue streams tied to alternative trading products. CME Group and ForecastEx are expected to provide market infrastructure and event contract listings, while Kalshi contributes regulated event-trading capabilities.
Analysts said the expansion could increase mainstream adoption of prediction markets as investors look for additional tools to hedge risks and express views on macroeconomic and geopolitical outcomes.
