Telegram has begun rolling out its native Gram Wallet, giving an initial group of users access to the new non-custodial crypto wallet. The company plans to gradually expand availability to its more than 1 billion users over the next couple of weeks, potentially creating one of the largest distributions of a self-custody wallet to date.

Gram Wallet will be integrated directly into Telegram and give users control over their own crypto assets rather than relying on a centralized custodian. The wallet is designed to support instant, zero-fee transfers as well as payments and purchases of Telegram digital assets.

The rollout follows Telegram’s July announcement of the product, which Pavel Durov described as the largest rollout of a non-custodial crypto wallet in history. GRAM initially gained about 4.5% following that announcement, reflecting expectations that Telegram’s massive user base could accelerate adoption of the token.
