Hair-Loss Drug Stocks Emerge as Wall Street’s Next Big Bet

Investors are piling into hair-loss drug developers as Veradermics shares surge and analysts see multibillion-dollar sales potential for Cosmo’s treatment.

Investors are increasingly betting on companies developing new treatments for hair loss, viewing baldness as a potentially multibillion-dollar pharmaceutical opportunity. Veradermics ($MANE) has surged nearly 500% since its February IPO after reporting positive clinical results for its experimental oral treatment VDPHL01.

Swiss-listed Cosmo has also reported positive results for its experimental male-pattern hair-loss treatment, clascoterone. Jefferies analysts estimate the drug could eventually generate about $3 billion in annual global sales, assuming Cosmo secures a capable commercial partner.

The investment thesis rests on the enormous potential customer base and consumers’ willingness to pay out of pocket for effective treatments. Pattern hair loss affects an estimated 80 million Americans, while existing options remain limited. Investors increasingly see the category as a large consumer-driven healthcare market capable of supporting multiple successful treatments.
