Anthropic is seeking to raise as much as $100 billion in an initial public offering that could value the AI developer at roughly $2 trillion. At that size, the Claude maker’s listing could become the largest IPO in history, underscoring extraordinary investor demand for leading artificial intelligence companies.
The company is also approaching the public markets with rapidly improving financial performance. Anthropic has told investors it expects to post positive adjusted operating income for a second consecutive quarter, while gross margins have climbed above 80% before revenue-sharing and model-training costs.
A successful offering would provide Anthropic with substantial capital for the increasingly expensive race to develop frontier AI models and computing infrastructure. It would also represent a major test of whether public-market investors are prepared to support the unprecedented valuations and spending requirements of the AI industry.
