Uber is rolling out ChatGPT Work to more than 30,000 employees globally, OpenAI announced on October 22. The company-wide deployment expands an initial pilot involving 1,000 staff.

The agent works within ChatGPT Enterprise and is designed to handle multi-step tasks across connected workplace applications. Employees can use it to research information, prepare meeting briefs, create presentations and analyze data.

Uber will support the rollout with its internal AI skills library, approved integrations and dedicated training across functions including finance, operations, marketing and product. Its engineering teams will also continue using Codex for software development.

This employee deployment is separate from Uber Assistant, the driver-facing service OpenAI described in May. That earlier collaboration used AI to turn marketplace information into guidance for drivers and simplify ride booking.

OpenAI says further adoption data and measurable outcomes will be shared as the rollout progresses; quantified savings were not disclosed. The expansion adds to the broader workplace adoption of AI that MarketSpeaker has covered in financial services.
