Samsung Electronics will distribute approximately $26.6 billion in bonuses to around 78,000 employees in its semiconductor division following record profits driven by surging demand for artificial intelligence memory chips. The payout is expected to average roughly $400,000 per employee, making it one of the largest bonus programs ever announced by a technology company.
The company has benefited from accelerating demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and advanced semiconductor products used in AI data centers, cloud computing infrastructure, and machine learning systems. Strong orders from global technology firms helped drive earnings growth across Samsung’s chip business.
The bonus program highlights the scale of profitability generated by the AI infrastructure boom as semiconductor manufacturers compete to expand production capacity and secure leadership positions in the rapidly growing AI hardware market.
