Nineteen-year-old entrepreneur Zach Yadegari has reportedly sold his AI-powered calorie-tracking app Cal AI for approximately $100 million and is already building a new startup aimed at reducing smartphone addiction. Yadegari developed Cal AI while still in high school, working on the project between classes as the app grew into one of the fastest-growing consumer AI products.
By the time he graduated, Cal AI had reached roughly 10 million users and was generating about $30 million in annual revenue. The app used artificial intelligence to simplify calorie tracking and nutrition management, attracting a large user base in the health and fitness market.
Yadegari’s new venture, Flow, is designed to combat doomscrolling by blocking selected apps until users physically place their smartphones in a dedicated docking station, encouraging healthier digital habits and reduced social media dependence.
