A new AI-themed venue in Beijing is replacing free Wi-Fi with complimentary DeepSeek tokens, allowing visitors to access AI services while highlighting China’s rapidly expanding artificial intelligence ecosystem.

Located in Beijing’s Zhongguancun technology district, AGI Bar combines coffee shop, workspace, and social venue with locally hosted AI infrastructure, creating a space designed specifically for developers, founders, researchers, and AI enthusiasts.

AI Instead of Internet Access

Rather than offering free wireless internet as an incentive for visitors, AGI Bar distributes DeepSeek tokens that customers can use to interact with AI models.

The venue also operates two Nvidia-powered workstations running DeepSeek V4 Flash locally, allowing guests to experiment with AI without relying on cloud subscriptions or remote services.

The setup reflects growing interest in locally deployed AI systems that offer lower latency, greater privacy, and direct access to advanced models.

Built Around China’s AI Community

The bar is designed as a meeting place for Beijing’s growing AI ecosystem.

Visitors can work on software projects, experiment with AI models, and collaborate with other developers while using locally hosted computing resources.

The concept illustrates how AI is increasingly becoming part of everyday technology culture rather than remaining confined to research labs and enterprise software.

Even the Cocktails Reference AI

AGI Bar has also embraced AI culture through its menu.

Its signature AGI cocktail consists almost entirely of foam – a tongue-in-cheek reference to concerns that the current excitement surrounding artificial intelligence could represent a market bubble.

The playful design reflects the industry’s willingness to celebrate AI innovation while acknowledging the debate surrounding lofty expectations and valuations.

AI Culture Continues to Expand

The opening of AGI Bar highlights how artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing not only technology businesses but also consumer experiences and urban culture.

As AI adoption accelerates across China, spaces dedicated to developers, startups, and AI enthusiasts are becoming more common, reinforcing the country’s ambition to remain a global leader in artificial intelligence.

Rather than simply serving drinks, AGI Bar offers a glimpse into how AI is becoming embedded in both professional communities and everyday social life.
