Marvell Technology shares surged after Jensen Huang described the company as the “next trillion-dollar company,” fueling a sharp rally in the stock. The comments came during Computex in Taiwan, where Huang highlighted Marvell’s growing importance in AI infrastructure and networking.
Marvell shares climbed more than 20%, pushing the company’s market value toward $240 billion and adding tens of billions of dollars in capitalization in a single session.
AI Networking Becomes the New Battleground
While Nvidia dominates AI accelerators, Marvell has emerged as a critical supplier of networking and connectivity technologies used inside large-scale AI data centers.
Huang emphasized that the next phase of AI growth will require enormous investments in moving data between GPUs, servers, and computing clusters, an area where Marvell plays an increasingly important role.
The company has also benefited from demand for custom AI chips, optical networking, and advanced interconnect technologies that help power hyperscale AI infrastructure. Analysts expect Marvell’s AI-related networking revenue to continue growing rapidly over the next several years.
Long Road to $1 Trillion
Despite the enthusiasm, Marvell would still need to increase its market capitalization by more than four times to reach the $1 trillion milestone. The company is currently valued at roughly $240 billion following the rally.
Investors have become increasingly optimistic after Nvidia’s earlier $2 billion investment in Marvell and expanding collaboration between the two companies on AI infrastructure technologies.
Analysts note that AI-driven demand has already pushed several semiconductor companies into the trillion-dollar club, including Nvidia, TSMC, Micron, and SK Hynix, making the idea less far-fetched than it would have seemed only a few years ago.
The broader takeaway is that investors are increasingly shifting their attention from AI chips alone toward the networking, connectivity, and infrastructure companies that enable large-scale artificial intelligence systems.
