Luma AI has raised $900 million in a new funding round led by Saudi Arabia’s Humain, lifting the company’s valuation to more than $4 billion. The U.S. startup, known for its multimodal and video-generation AI systems, plans to use the capital to accelerate development of large-scale “world models” capable of learning from visual, audio and robotic data.

The investment underscores the rapid expansion of Middle Eastern capital into frontier AI technologies. As part of the partnership, Luma AI will also deploy significant compute workloads on Saudi infrastructure, supporting the region’s ambition to become a global hub for advanced AI development.

Industry analysts say the raise highlights growing demand for next-generation models that go beyond text-based systems. Investors will be watching how Luma scales compute capacity, productizes its technology and competes among leading global AI labs.
