Intel discloses it sells 214.8 million shares to Nvidia for approximately $5 billion, according to a filing submitted to U.S. regulators. The transaction values the shares at roughly $23 per share and represents one of the largest recent equity placements in the semiconductor sector.

The deal gives Nvidia an estimated stake of around 4% in Intel, strengthening financial and strategic ties between two companies that have historically been competitors. The move comes as Intel accelerates its turnaround strategy, focusing on advanced manufacturing, foundry services, and greater exposure to artificial intelligence workloads.

For Nvidia, the investment provides closer alignment with Intel’s production roadmap at a time when global demand for AI chips continues to strain manufacturing capacity. The transaction underscores how AI-driven growth is reshaping partnerships across the semiconductor industry.
