Alphabet has surpassed Microsoft to become the world’s third-largest publicly traded company, reaching a market capitalization of $3.68 trillion. The shift reflects a sharp rise in investor confidence following the launch of Google’s Gemini 3 AI platform, which has accelerated renewed momentum across the company’s core businesses.

The rally was further supported by Berkshire Hathaway’s recent purchase of roughly $4.3 billion in Alphabet shares, adding institutional weight to the stock’s advance. Market analysts note that the combination of stronger AI product cycles and high-profile investor inflows has contributed to Alphabet’s fastest large-cap valuation climb in over a year.

The move places Alphabet behind only Apple and Saudi Aramco, reinforcing its position among the dominant global tech leaders. Investors now expect AI-driven revenue expansion to remain a central narrative heading into 2026 as Google scales its next-generation models.
