UAE telecom du launches Cloud Miner, enabling residents to mine Bitcoin through a subscription-based service.

Dubai-based telecom operator du has launched a cryptocurrency mining service allowing UAE residents to mine Bitcoin through its data centers. The “Cloud Miner” platform operates on a subscription model, letting users rent computational power without managing hardware.

The initiative, under du’s Tech sub-brand, marks the company’s first step toward expanding into digital asset services. Each contract provides 250 terahashes per second for 24 months, with earnings automatically converted to Bitcoin and transferred to users’ crypto wallets.

Du expects the service to boost consumer participation in digital finance and plans to expand its mining-as-a-service capabilities. Executives said the move aligns with the UAE’s broader efforts to foster regulated adoption of blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies.
