Ripple’s U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, RLUSD, has exceeded a market capitalization of $1 billion, attaining this milestone less than a year after its December 2024 launch. The token now ranks among the top ten USD-pegged stablecoins globally, reflecting rapid growth and adoption.

RLUSD achieved roughly 1,278% year-to-date growth, helped by its dual-chain architecture with about 80% of supply issued on Ethereum and 20% on the XRP Ledger and daily trading volumes reaching approximately $174 million. The stablecoin enters a sector dominated by much larger peers like Tether USD (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC).

The milestone coincides with Ripple’s push into institutional settlement infrastructure through its prime-brokerage service and payment-rail integrations. The achievement underscores growing demand for regulated, enterprise-grade stablecoins that bridge traditional finance and blockchain-based applications.
