Pinkfong, the South Korean studio behind the global viral hit Baby Shark, surged 62% in its KOSDAQ debut after raising 76 billion won (about $53 million) in its initial public offering. Demand for the IPO exceeded supply more than 600 times, reflecting strong appetite from both institutional and retail investors.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its content portfolio, develop new digital IP and accelerate growth in global licensing and entertainment partnerships. Baby Shark remains one of the most-watched videos in internet history, reinforcing Pinkfong’s value as a leading children’s media brand.

Analysts say the strong market debut highlights ongoing investor interest in entertainment companies with scalable franchises. Pinkfong’s performance also underscores the growing financial relevance of digital-native intellectual property in global markets.
